Dear Fellow Students,
Warm greetings to everyone! May the Year of the Horse be a fulfilling one and bring you closer to your goals and aspirations.
10th Anniversary cum Grand Opening of Mei Foo Campus
On 6 February, the College proudly celebrated its 10th Anniversary cum Grand Opening of the Mei Foo Campus with a commemorative ceremony attended by over 200 distinguished guests.
The officiating team of the opening ceremony included Mr Yuen Shu Wah, Founding Chairman of the Board of Governors, The Most Revd Andrew Chan Au-ming, Archbishop and Primate of Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui, Mr James Cheng, Chief Founding Donor, President Chui, as well as Governors and Council members. The event was filled with many memorable moments. The President expressed heartfelt thanks to the Lord for guiding the College through a decade of growth and achievements. The Archbishop, the Guest of Honour, enlightened attendees on the pivotal role of higher education in today’s world. A current student and an alumnus then came on stage to share moving testimonies about their journeys at GCC. Adding to the joy, the College presented the 10-Year Service Awards to Governors and staff members. The event concluded in a spirit of unity, with attendees rejoicing together in this milestone of growth and success.
College Assemblies
Three College Assemblies were held in the first quarter of 2026, each offering an inspirational sharing session. Mr Law Chor Kin, a renowned ultramarathon and trail runner, delivered an enlightening talk, “Break Into a New Realm”. Ms Kelly Yeung, Counsellor of Clinical Psychology & Counselling Services from Baptist Oi Kwan Social Service, spoke on “Understanding Mental Health in Young Adults”. We were also pleased to hear from alumni who shared on the theme of the year, “Carve Out a New Path”.
Student Welfare and Support
Following the study tours to Kansai in 2024 and Inner Mongolia last year, the Student Development Office (SDO) will lead a 6-day Sabah Cultural Learning and Service Study Tour in May, with funding support from the Government. Participants will have a comprehensive exploration of the Sabah economy and culture, as well as in-depth exchanges with locals. There are other outreach activities offered to foster holistic development, and we invite you to actively participate to make the most of your college journey.
The SDO is providing year-round services to support graduating students in job seeking. Simply make an appointment for a consultation on CV writing, career planning, and job interview practice. Meanwhile, you are reminded to find time to fulfil the required community service hours for graduation.
Gratia Academy
In addition to operating a post-secondary college, GCC has been actively reaching out to the community through its extension arm, which was renamed Gratia Academy in November 2025. Besides the seminar on Mandatory Reporting of Child Abuse Ordinance held late last year, talk series and guided tours were held to promote cultural heritage and community engagement.
There are also diverse educational services offered to meet evolving societal learning needs. Courses and activities could be for life skills enhancement, career preparation and professional training, etc. More strategic initiatives are in the pipeline to advance GCC’s vision and mission.
Future Development
As we enter the 2nd decade of operation, GCC will continue to seek further growth of development. A Master of Social Work Programme is under development, marking a significant milestone if approval is successfully sought from the regulatory bodies. At the Mei Foo campus, we will continue to enhance facilities and services to meet your learning needs, such as another library venue, which is under preparation. There are also plans to use the Shek Kip Mei Campus to broaden the College’s educational offerings.
Lastly, we look forward to your continued engagement in College life and wish you every success in the months ahead.
With best wishes,
College Management
