Dear Fellow Students,

The last few weeks have not been easy for any of us.  We know many in our community are saddened by the devastating fire outbreak at Wang Fuk Court, and our thoughts remain with all those affected.  May time bring healing, and may we continue to find strength and support as we move forward together.

Graduation Ceremony 2025

On 29 November 2025, in the afternoon, around 450 attendees, including graduands, staff, members of the Board of Governors and College Council, parents and guests, etc., gathered at St Andrew's Church for the Graduation Ceremony 2025.  Despite the prevailing atmosphere in the wider community and the guest of honour's unavailability, the ceremony proceeded smoothly.  A solemn moment of silence was observed in remembrance of the victims of the tragedy.  A total of 204 students who graduated from 9 programmes this year were conferred their academic honours, including 105 bachelor's degrees, 61 higher diplomas and 38 professional diplomas.  The event was made more special with student representatives delivering a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude on behalf of the graduating class.  At the end was a choir performance, benediction and photo-taking, which filled the venue with warmth and precious moments of the day.

Mei Foo Campus

The Mei Foo campus has been in operation for nearly a semester.  Most of you have probably explored the community around and already adapted to this new environment.  On campus, we hope you have enjoyed the expanded space and upgraded teaching facilities, designed to improve students’ learning experience.  Beyond the classroom, we are pleased that the Student & Learning Commons and the Student Activity Room have become some lively hubs where you can gather, study, and connect.  As the Mei Foo campus is still in its early stages, improvements are being introduced step by step to ensure the facilities not only meet practical needs but also foster a renewed sense of collegiality.

10th Anniversary cum Mei Foo Campus Opening

We would like to share the news with you that the 10th Anniversary Celebration cum Official Opening of the Mei Foo Campus will be held on 6 February 2026. This milestone occasion will be graced by The Most Revd Andrew Chan Au-ming, Archbishop and Primate of Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui, as the officiating guest.  The event will also bring together donors, supporters, members of the governing bodies, and other distinguished stakeholders to share in and celebrate this significant chapter of the College.  A working committee has been formed to oversee the preparation, and the event highlights are under planning.  Check out the promotional activities and further details of the event to be posted in due course.

College Assemblies

All 4 College Assemblies in the 1st semester were smoothly held.  An inspiring sharing session, conducted by different speakers, was arranged to highlight each assembly.  President Chui spoke on the theme “New Horizon in Gratia” in the 1st Assembly of the year, Mr Yuen Shu Wah, Founding Chairman of the Board of Governors of GCC, on the topic “The Meaning of Life and Life Stories” in the 2nd Assembly, and three students on the theme “Carve Out a New Path” in the 3rd one.

At the 4th College Assembly held on 1 December, the College had a short service with prayer, hymn and Bible reading as a mourning for those lost ones and the broken families in the tragic fire.  Special condolences were extended to a bereaved student whose husband perished in the tragedy.

Student Development

The College attaches great importance to nurturing students’ personal growth and mental well-being.  In October and November, the College Counsellor, in collaboration with the Student Development Office, organised a series of thoughtfully designed workshops and activities to foster self-improvement and holistic development. These sessions explored a wide range of meaningful topics, including cultivating self-awareness, gaining deeper insights into personality, strengthening interpersonal communication, understanding behavioural patterns, and raising awareness of the risks of gambling.

End of the Semester

As the semester draws to a close, most of you are fully engaged in examination and major assessments preparation.  This is a time when you have to make extra efforts, and some of you might feel stressed and worried.  Don’t hesitate to seek guidance and support from your lecturers, tutors and mentors if in need.

Lastly, wish you fruitful rewards for your hard work, and may you all have a peaceful Christmas holiday and a prosperous year of 2026!

With best wishes,

College Management
