Dear Fellow Students,

We hope everything is going well and you are doing fine in the second semester. You may wish to take a few minutes to read this message to stay updated on recent College happenings and initiatives.

College Assemblies

Three College Assemblies, featuring inspirational sharing sessions, were held as scheduled on the first Monday of January, February and March 2025. Dr Loke, Ter Ern Andrew, Associate Professor, Department of Religion & Philosophy of Hong Kong Baptist University, delivered an enlightening talk titled “The Path of Grace From Medicine to Theology”. Prof H S Chui, College President, shared insights with students about the Journey of Faith. Dr Liu Kwong Sun, a psychiatrist, provided professional advice on psychological health and stress management.

Student Welfare and Support

From time to time, the Student Development Office (SDO) has been posting various outreach opportunities for students’ information. There are likely options that interest you and serve your needs. Study tours, personal development activities, and youth exchange programmes in the Mainland and overseas are particularly valuable opportunities that could enrich your experience and help you lead a fulfilling life. In addition to providing activity information, the SDO offers support and resources, when applicable, to facilitate students’ participation.

You may also find it helpful that the College Counsellor has provided a QR code for easily making counselling service appointments. Scan the QR code and seek professional advice about emotional problems, interpersonal relationships, family and learning issues, and more.

Reminders for Graduating Students

Amongst the various tasks to be completed for the final year of study, meeting the required community service hours for graduation should be kept in mind in the coming months for graduating students. Meanwhile, you may also find time to check out job opportunities posted by the SDO and use their career support services, such as CV writing and job interview workshops, to better prepare yourself for job seeking after graduation.

First Conference held by the College

With the support of many prominent scholars and senior executives from leading organizations, the College proudly hosted the 24th International Conference on ISO & TQM at Regal Riverside Hotel from 6 to 8 February 2025. Featuring the theme “ISO & TQ/AI for Health, Service & Education Excellence”, the conference was the first international event held by the College, marking an important milestone in Gratia’s academic development and research efforts.

A total of 27 papers were presented by 18 keynote speakers, including Mr Yuen Shu Wah, Chairman of the Board of Governors, Prof H S Chui, College President, and several faculty staff of the College, in the 3-day conference.

Campus Development

Expanding the capacity of teaching facilities remains an ongoing goal for the College. While seeking approval would not be easy, applying for land through the Government's Land Grant Scheme to develop a new campus is the College's top priority and ultimate objective. This development will ensure a bright future for the College and its students. Meanwhile, the College is exploring various options for renting venues as interim classrooms to accommodate the growing student population in the coming years.

With best wishes,

College Management
